Santiago on being discovered...

“It was when I was 19 and lived in Uruguay. I was supposed to go to Dublin for a sabbatical year off studies. I was scouted through Facebook 20 days before my flight, so instead of going to Dublin I went straight to Milan and started working with 2morrow Models.”

On his favorite job...

“It was my second month in the industry and my booker got me the catalogue/campaign for the Ferrari store in Milan. Awesome shoot, the team, everything. As you know my last name is Ferrari, so when my family came to visit me, I was quite thrilled to show them the store. Honoring the family name.”

On his favorite photoshoot...

“Last November I shot the Dolce&Gabbana catalogue. It’s just a pleasure working at that level with clients like this.”

On his country...

“The culture, the people and the summer at our beautiful beaches; sorry I can’t name only one reason…I love my country.”

On starting his career...

“Well, I had no idea, everything happened so fast and I just kept moving with the flow in the beginning. I was just into the traveling and I learned about modeling along the way. But it definitely takes more dedication than I thought it would.”

On hidden talents...

“So many hidden talents! But they are still hiding.”

On definition of modeling...

“Present your best features, but never hide the rest, always know how to introduce yourself.”

On getting shy...

“Maybe a bit during my first shoot, but strangely I don’t. If the client or photographer make me feel uncomfortable, I’m afraid I might not show my best work. Maybe you can call that shy.”

On beauty...

“Physical beauty would be health. When you do sports, and eat healthy regularly, you get that glow of good vibes; energy that just shows the best of you. But personally, I believe the real beauty is in people’s personality... It’s truly amazing when they both combine.”
