As one of Los Angeles’ most Instagrammed buildings, the pink wall of Paul Smith Los Angeles is the ideal billboard to promote this message of kindness and compassion.

“Many people are familiar with the shop’s bright pink colour, so it will surprise a lot of visitors that during this short period, to celebrate LA Pride, it will be painted in the famous LGBTQ rainbow. I think it will look really outstanding. Make sure you head down and make the most of it while it’s there!”

In addition to the rainbow makeover, each wall will feature the hashtag #kindcomments, designed to encourage visitors to share positive messages with friends and strangers alike. The campaign builds on the idea that Instagram is not only a platform for selfexpression but also a tool for bringing people and communities closer together.

Echoing Instagram’s global reach, the rainbow wall at Paul Smith Los Angeles will be one of five to be installed in cities around the world – other cities hosting rainbow walls include Nashville and Cleveland in North America, plus London and Madrid in Europe.

To help celebrate #Pride2017, Instagram is turning walls in cities around the world into colorful beacons of support. We began today in Los Angeles by transforming the iconic #paulsmithpinkwall into a ???? with Mayor @ericgarcetti. Murals by artists throughout the Instagram community will also appear in London, Madrid, Nashville, and Cleveland. If you're nearby, visit a rainbow wall and show your support of the LGBTQ community (and if you're not, use one of the Pride stickers @Instagram launched today!). The rainbow wall at Paul Smith Los Angeles will be unveiled on May 31st with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Instagram COO Marne Levine in attendance alongside members of the Los Angeles LGBTQ community.
