Sir Paul Smith

Known for the unmistakable Britishness of its designs, the brand is a premium quality retailer operating around the globe with Paul Smith shops found in Paris, Milan, New York, Hong Kong, and since 2014 also in Hamburg.

To celebrate the opening, the designer invited celebrities from the fashion and society world to its new store including German actor and model Eugen Bauder, with Luise Befort, the actor Daniel Brühl, as well as well-known fashion influencers and journalists.

Located on Potsdamer Straße in Tiergarten, the new shop measures one thousand square feet and sits in an up-and-coming area of Berlin known for its galleries, cafes and bars. As with every Paul Smith shop, the interior and exterior design has been tailored to artfully reflect its surroundings. 

The front of the new Berlin space will be covered in hooks that will allow the shop to customize its façade. This is a practice inspired by old local shops from the same area that used similar hooks to display their wares. 

Inside, old meets new as authentic features from the shop’s history, which dates back to the 1800s, are matched with custom fixtures and fittings designed specifically for the space. On the walls, a plaster mural hints at the shop’s previous life as a supplier of religious artefacts and is paired with art, photographs and exhibition posters from Paul’s personal collection. 

Alongside the Paul Smith collections for men and women, the new shop will house a changing selection of curiosities and special items. These may range from vinyl records and rare gig posters to vintage leather biker jackets and other unique objects that Paul has found on his travels around the world. 

So if you are visiting Berlin, don’t miss incredible inspiring place, reflecting the character of Sir Paul Smith and his designs; the Berlin shop displays the collections and an extensive selection of accessories, books and arts.

The store will open from Monday till Saturday from 11:00 to 20:00.
