Fred Perry

Triple Wimbledon champion, Fred Perry, founded his brand in the 1950s and the Laurel Wreath has been adopted by generations of subcultures ever since. What started out as functional, durable sportswear, soon became part of the British subcultural uniform. 

Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass & Co. started out with similar core values to Fred. His motto was: “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for ‘loafing in the field,’ and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny loafer. 

Adopted by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, Weejuns have been a smart staple and key part of some of the most influential moments in fashion history. With a mutual connection to subculture and a passion for practicality and quality, Fred Perry and G.H. Bass & Co. partner up on a penny loafer in oxblood and navy colors, and a tassel loafer in black and bottle green colors. The rich tones offered compliment Fred Perry’s apparel offering. 
 

A collaborative effort, the iconic Weejuns are given the Fred Perry treatment, with tough, heavy-duty styling. Designed with a thick, ridged commando outsole, the leather in-sock is finished with a tartan trim taken from the brand’s Harrington jacket. Constructed with traditional hand-sewn moccasin construction, the contrast trim above the outsole references Fred Perry’s ubiquitous tipping detail, which is found on the Fred Perry Shirt.
