Extraordinary Statements

The brand has stepped into the fashion industry and has begun to collaborate with a traditional German manufacturer, Meindl.

To present their latest leather jackets collection called “Iconic Classic”, Bentley and Meindl invited us for a two day trip to explore the beauty of the Alps and, of course, to test the latest Bentley SUV Bentayga.

Beginning at the Munich Airport, I had the chance to take a ride in this legendary car. In these exact specs, I had the Bentayga W12 in Orange Flame, with 21" seven Twin-Spoke wheels and a dark stained burr walnut interior.

Stepping inside, I was surrounded with an incredible amount of the finest camel leather. Beautiful wood work and a stunning hand-stitched steering wheel  was right in front of me.

Taking a ride straight to Landhaus Tanner in Waging for lunch, my driving buddy, Kiz (from MR.GOODLIFE), really enjoyed every moment. Taking this luxury SUV to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds felt as if we were flying. Driving the Bentayga is a true, luxury experience.

After lunch, we reached our next stop at the Meindl factory, in Kirchanschöring. On the ground floor we were welcomed with beautiful, handcrafted products from Meindl. Of course, we found the typical Lederhose in a variety of shapes. Meindl is a family manufacturer, founded in 1683, and well known for their high-quality Alpine and hiking boots.

The Director of Brand & Lifestyle at Bentley Motors, Karin, talked about the inspiration behind the collection with Meindl: “The jackets are inspired by the design language of our cars, celebrating Bentley’s rich heritage, from racetrack to road.”

We were able to have a look behind the scenes to see the 120 step process during the production of the new “Iconic Classic” leather jacket, created from supremely soft lamb, Nappa leather. These jackets feature Bentley detailing throughout, from the cut of the matrix grille lining, reflecting the shape of a Bentley dashboard, to signature twinned joints and hanging loop that are cross-stitched by hand, echoing the design of the Bentley steering wheel.

The final destination for our day was in Salzburg, Austria. We arrived at the grand Hotel Sacher, well known for their delicious chocolate cake, the Sacher Torte.

Spending an evening in Salzburg, we visited The Red Bull Hangar 7 and it’s unique Restaurant “Ikarus”. The concept behind the Michellin-Star Restaurant is simply amazing, a culinary journey around the world in one evening. Our menu was created by a Spanish guest chef, Quique Dacosta, separated in three courses comprised of nine dishes. The meal was as a symphony on the tongue with many surprises.
