Arthur Gosse

Maybe you have seen him in fashion magazines, in TV adverts or as the face of Massimo Dutti. Or maybe he’s the guy you double tap on the regular on Instagram. He has this boy-next-door quality and a quiet stillness in common, in the fashion industry often called "everbody's darling”. 

His name is Arthur Gosse (@VNY Models) —he started his modeling career with a direct booking for Prada in 2013, followed by a numerous impressive fashion campaigns and shows, inlcuding Valentino, Gucci, H&M, Hugo Boss or Brunello Cucinelli.

Last year, Arthur appeared on the cover of our print edition CALEOPAPER 03 Winter 2019-2020. This time we are bringing you a short interview with the French model and a behind the scenes video, from our editorial shooting in Berlin.

Arthur, what was your model break out, and what is the picture, or campaign you are most proud of until today? 

"I have never been really proud of myself for » posing «, but I was impressed to see me on the front and the back page of the New York Times. It was in 2014 for the Valentino Spring/Summer campaign, shot by Craig McDean (I am glad, I still have a copy of it (laughing).” 

You are ranked in the Top-50 models, you had a record with 75 shows in 2013 in just six months. What’s your next level, is there something you would like to reach in your modeling career? 

"Nothing precise, I just try to be good in what I do and make people happy on set. I mostly see modeling as an opportunity to make my life more conformable. So I will continue, as long as I can.”

You have walked and worked for the biggest players in the fashion industry. Did this affect your style, how you dress, what you wear? Has your experiences shaped your personal style? 

"It does a little bit obviously, but I’m not big consumer and I’m a « I don’t care » person, so I think my personal style is still 98% me (laughing).”
 

You play the guitar, is this your only hidden talent?
"I used to draw a lot and paint, before being a model. I would like to do it again as soon as possible.”

What does your life after modelling look like for you? Is there any exit-plan for Arthur? 

"It depends when it stops. If it’s before my 50th birthday, I will be maybe still working for myself in Paris, but if it’s after my 50, I hope I will be near the beach with a cocktail (laughing).”
