The initial philosophy behind Orlebar Brown was to create a short which is versatile. Orlebar Brown represents a short which is not only a stylish beach accessory, but a “short you can swim in” rather than a “swim short”, providing something one can wear on the beach, by the pool and then smart enough to go and have a drink or lunch. Orlebar Brown takes their inspiration from Slim Aarons and iconic pictures of the Palm Beach life.
The designers of OB visualize the spirit, imagination and feelings one experiences during vacation and beach holidays. For their latest collection OB worked with many different designers, photographers and editors. One was Konstantin Kakanias, a contemporary Greek painter and multimedia artist. The spring 2016 Collection carries his thumbprint. Konstatins illustrations are colorful and fun-loving. For the summer Collection Orlebar Brown also celebrates the „Urban Gardening Trend“ and was inspired by it. You will also find lot´s of jungle prints, tight leaves, animals or floral prints in the collection.
